Pembrokeshire girls represent Wales

From the Western Telegraph, first published Wednesday 18th Aug 2004.

SIX talented cricketers from Pembrokeshire have this season represented their country at under 15 and under 17 levels, and, in doing so, have given performances that both their clubs and the county respectively can be proud of.

The girls in question are Cherie Pitcher-Schofield from Burton, (under 15), Naomi James, Johnston & Neyland (under 15 and 17), Finola Scale, Burton (under 15 & 17), Charlotte Davies, Herbrandston (under 15), Rebecca Jones, Burton (under 17) and Emma Summons, Johnston and Neyland (under 17).

All six girls have travelled around the country this summer playing against strong outfits from Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset, Sussex , South Gloucester and Kent, and playing at the county grounds of Somerset in Taunton and Sussex at The Hove.

Recently, the under 15 squad travelled to the Kings College in Taunton to play in a cricket festival and finished the tournament as creditable runners up to Kent.

With promising players such as these being produced here at local level, things certainly look bright for both Pembrokeshire and national cricket for the future.
